About Lauren

After giving birth to my second daughter I wanted to do something that had meaning and enriched the wellbeing of others. I spent some time in the US exploring the different styles of teaching and I decided to train to become a teacher with the world’s leading rehab and science-led Pilates school, Polestar.

I became qualified as a Pilates mat teacher in 2016 and then on the Pilates apparatus as a fully comprehensive teacher in 2018. I have been teaching Pilates in Shrewsbury since 2015 and in 2019 opened Shrewsbury’s first fully-equipped dedicated Pilates studio.

As a mum of two, I am passionate about bringing the benefits of Pilates to both pregnant and postnatal women, and hold a certification from the Center for Women’s Fitness in pre and postnatal Pilates. I also specialise in working with women who have diastasis recti and pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic pain, having completed training with Carolyne Anthony and Dr. Sarah Duvall.


Since then I continue to delve into and explore my own Pilates education and self-development, exploring Franklin Method practices, somatic movement, and the Whole Body Pelvic Health method. I have also been a graduate assistant for the Polestar UK education team. The latest training includes Pilates for Menopause, Vital Breath Buteyko Workshops, and continuing mentorships with Liliana Ferreira, Claire Sparrow, and Christi Idavoy.

Meet Hannah Bebb

Since qualifying as a Polestar accredited Mat Instructor, I have really enjoyed embracing the new classes we are offering at LHP and finding my confidence as a teacher. My awareness of my own body has become so much more heightened since beginning to teach at the studio on a regular basis. 

Still under the mentorship and guidance of Lauren, we have started the beginner’s course on a Monday evening which teaches the fundamentals and basics of Pilates which are so valuable as you progress through the movements. It’s been beyond rewarding watching the classes’ confidence grow and move into other classes and I can’t wait for the next one! 

These new classes have allowed me to explore the mat movements in a different depth and have a new appreciation for them now I am teaching others of all different stages in their Pilates journey. On Saturday morning we offer a mixed ability class which is also tailored to who is attending that day so offers something unique for everyone with a good amount of challenge whether this comes from building up to bigger movements or introducing props to provide feedback in alternative ways and is one of my favourite ways to start a weekend. 

I am looking forward to furthering my knowledge and attending more specialised workshops so I can bring something different to the classes that I teach as I now embark on this new phase of my Pilates journey. I first started attending classes simply to help my posture after working from home and I could never have imagined how much it would have altered my daily life together with the increased sense of wellbeing it has given me which is a feeling I truly hope to give to others when they attend one of my classes.
