Postnatal Pilates

Postnatal Pilates aims to help you find the heart of your energy from your pelvic floor, realign your spine after pregnancy moulded it around your baby, and strengthen your body for the physicality of being a mum.

We offer a Postnatal Pilates restorative studio class and an 8-week online course to follow at home. Both are designed to slowly restore muscle function so you can feel your best whilst adapting to motherhood.

POSTNATAL PILATES STUDIO CLASS

Babies, Lattes and Pilates

Our weekly restorative class for new mums and their babies.

We’ll support you in reconnecting to your breath, the muscles of your pelvic floor and abdominals. We’ll help you check for diastasis recti and ensure that you build strength slowly from the inside out.

The class is one hour of postnatal Pilates followed by 30 minutes of tea and social! Class blocks of 6-8 weeks. Suitable until your baby crawls.

Postnatal Pilates FAQs

  • Yes. I am fully qualified to work with pre and postnatal clients and all the exercises we do during live classes or courses are safe for mother and baby. You can learn more about me and my qualifications here.

  • Under current medical guidelines, a woman can begin exercise following the 6-week post-partum check from the doctor and 12 weeks following a C-section. The breathing and pelvic floor exercises you may have learned during my pregnancy Pilates classes can be done immediately after birth.

  • Yes of course. I designed both the Babies, Lattes & Pilates studio class and the Postnatal Core Restore online programme to support new mamas, whether they came to Pregnancy Pilates with me or another teacher or not.

If you ever have any queries, please get in touch.

  • Please get in touch with me so we can chat over any concerns you might have and I can guide you on what will suit your body best.

  • I suggest bringing a blanket and any toys to keep your baby comfortable.

  • Because the class is popular, you can attend for two full terms of classes. After this, I ask that you wait before you rebook so that anyone on the waiting list is able to book in. Then if there are spaces you are welcome to rebook your place. This is so that as many new mums as possible get the chance to attend because Postnatal Pilates is (in our opinion) the best way to help your body recover and feel stronger after having a baby.
