Top-to-toe summer health with four new Pilates classes this August 2024

This month I have filmed a class which will help strengthen your back body; this is so important as most of us now find ourselves more rounded forward at the front. This class will help improve your stride, running form, and posture and help you breathe more easily. There is also a class to help optimise your breath by doing some fantastic rib releases. A core-based class for balance from your feet up and a short yet mighty glutes class! Wishing you a month of full-body health.

Back body strength

The back of our body means the hamstrings, glutes and spinal muscles and whilst no parts of our body are not inter-connected this is today's focus. Why? Due to the modern lifestyle, we often find ourselves rounded forward which means we are weak at the front and shortened at the back. This class will help you stand taller, breathe deeper, move more efficiently and even give you a better PB!

Rebalancing your core

Rebalancing your core from the foot up, did you know that carrying your head forward of your spine puts extra strain on your pelvic floor? Also if our feet are rigid and stiff this will impact our pelvic health so in this class we'll bring the head on the spine, work on the foot and strengthen those all-important core' or support muscles.

⏱️ 30 mins

Prop: Tennis/Franklin ball and overball

Focus: Core, Abdominals

Optimise your breath

Being restricted in the ribcage can mean that our breath becomes suboptimal and that we might use the smaller muscles around the neck and chest to breathe, this can cause tightness and tension in the neck, jaw and shoulders. In this class, we'll use the overball to release the ribs, and around the diaphragm.

⏱️ 27 mins

Prop: Overball

Focus: Flexibility, Mobility, Breath

Categories: Flexibility & Mobility, Breathe, Release & Restore
